This past Saturday, I had my first lesson with Nathan Pavey. Overall it went really well and I think that the semester is going to go well. We went over his scales and orchestra pieces. We also talked about vibrato and how to make vibrato work. I am not sure as how to properly teach vibrato. Also I would like to know what is the best way to teach spicatto. I used the analogy of the shape of the letter, “U.” Is that appropriate for this style of playing????
